Protection against VAT fraud

VAT carousels and VAT fraud are one of the biggest threats to honest entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, as the dishonest contractors disappear, the tax authorities target the real business.

How should you defend yourself against a dishonest contractor? What should you look for when establishing a business relationship with a new supplier? What internal procedures should be implemented to be on the safe side? And, finally, how should you behave if the tax authorities claim that your company was involved in a carousel?

As part of my daily work, I help to implement verification procedures for contractors. I also carry out audits of settlements with selected contractors aimed at detecting VAT fraud. I also conduct training courses to sensitise employees with regard to attempts to manipulate companies in the so-called VAT carousels.
